The Animals Bit Back

Red strolled calmly through the rows of rusted and bent-up cages, with animals of all types clustered together. His steady footsteps stopped as he approached a cat's cage. Grinning, he slid the lock out of the cage door and snatched a kitten from inside with a tight grip. Snapping out of his dream, she kitten mewled loudly. The giant, dark tabby cat beside it bolted up to its feet and yowled. She lunged at Red, but he quickly slammed the door shut and jammed the tiny kitten in a cardboard cat carrier. The kitten's mother screeched and hissed, trying to break through the metal, but she was too weak. She slumped backwards silently in defeat.
Red continued hunting for young animals and noticed a litter of puppies.
The latch to their cage was stuck.
No problem, he thought smugly. The cage was old, rusted, and easy to break. With only a little bit of muscle, he tore off the lock.
Bad.
Idea.
The 200-pound, enormous black lab howled loudly and snapped at his hand, digging her amazingly sharp, yellow teeth deep into his skin. Red yowled in pain and attempted to pull his hand away, but the dog's teeth remained deep enough in his hand to scrape his bones. He wailed slapped the dog in the nose to no avail. The mother dog was growling fiercly as she shook his hand, then spit it out. Frightened, Red dashed away, leaving behind the box of young animals.
Still growling, the mother dog tackled another animal's cage, causing the weak metal bars to snap. The family inside wiggled free, and the dog moved on to the next cage. While Red was washing his seriously wounded hand, spraying multiple antibiotics on the bite mark, putting on band-aids, and wrapping it in a sterilized fabric bandage, the labrador managed to release all of the animals easily.
They were free.




Plot:
You are a dog, cat, rabbit, or budgie that escaped from the animal mill. You are one of the few animals that came along with Day, a black lab that broke you all free, to Canada.
Why Canada? Day once had a loving owner who lived right at the border of America and Canada. However, years ago, she escaped and got scared. Lost and alone, she began wandering around America, and 5 months ago, she landed in Florida, where Red found the stray and captured her. Day is positive that her owner will take in all of the escaped animals that come with her. Hey, why not go on such an exciting journey? However, Day is injured from breaking all of the cages, so she needs help and the trip will be slow...
